Majlis in Makkah for Madhu Rasool Sallallahu Alihi Wasallam
During our recent visit to Makkah for Umrah I was grateful to attend a Majlis dedicated for Madhu Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alihi Wasallam. This weekly gathering occurs in every Friday morning right after Fajr Prayer extending almost 4 hours. It is being hosted by one of Surafae Makkah, a Shaikh from Ahlu Baith Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alihi Wasallam.
It started by reciting Qaseedatul Burdha and Qaseedat ul Muhammadiyya written by Imam Busiri Raliyallahu Anhu. Then all were told to recite a special Salath (اللهم صلى على سيدنا محمد و آله و سلم) 500 times. After that many participants from different nationalities including children recited poems praising Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alihi Wasallam in attractive tones. Many Surah-Al- Fatihah were recited and gifted to Rasoolullah, Scholars from Salaful Ummah and deceased within us. There were short but rich speeches from two scholars on Quran and purification of heart.
Arabic coffee (قهوة) and ripe dates (رطب) were distributed to all participants during the session. At end of session hareesh (a popular Arabian dish cooked with wheat and meat), dal curry, Arabic bread and yogurt were served to all.
We were a bit late to reach over there from Masjidul Haram after Fajr prayer. The guide with us told similar gathering is being conducted almost everyday in a week at different locations in Makkah. I have seen some of those video clips in Youtube. But being able to be present at such a gathering by person is of a special feeling upon knowing variety of its contents and energy of its participants.
