The Holy city Al Madinah Al Munawwarah is full of icons relating to the Last Prophet Masjidul Jumua’ is one among it which is built on the place where Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) offered first ever Jumua’ Prayer (Friday Congregation Prayer) in Madinah.

Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) before migrating to Madinah had sent an envoy (داعي) to invite people there to Islam and lead them in Prayers. That was famous companion Mus’ab bin Umair (مصعب بن عمير رضي الله عنه) who was martyred in the battle of Uhud. It was Mus’ab (رضي الله عنه) who used to lead Jumua’ Pryers in Madinah. When Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) reached Madinah he stayed in Quba for 4 days. He (صلى الله عليه و سلم) resumed the journey in a Friday and reached the locality of Banu Salem bin Auf and prayed Jumua in the open land there called Al Qubaib or Ranoona Valley.

Masjidul Jumua’ is located around 1KM north of from Quba. Banu Salem tribe constructed a Masjid there during time of Rasoolullah Later many renovations took place notably by Shihabuddin Qawan and Al Sayyid Hasan Al Sharbetly. Latest renovations and expansion was by King Fahad bin Abdul Azeez in 1412H.

    Mashaa Allah!

So That was the first JUM’UA Prayer ever in the history of Islam and Muslims.

Muslims gathering Once in a Year for Hajj worldwide, Twice in a year for Two Eids regionally, once in a week for Jumua Prayer Locally, 5 times a day for daily Prayers. Beautiful System of Islam.

Their is a Chapter Named Surat Al-Jumʿua ( سورة الجمعة‎) in Holy Quran, Allah Says :

Jumua is known as the EID of Masakeen.

    Allah Knows the Best!
