Masjid Fas’h (مسجد الفسح)

This Masjid is situated at the foot of the mountain below the cave of Uhud. On the day of Uhud battle the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم ) and His companions had offered Dhuhr (ظهر) prayer at this venue. Although the old structure of Masjid is ruined, signs of the walls and Mehrab are still visible. A fence has been erected around it.
One would feel places of historic significance should be marked and protected for generations in present and future to visualize and understand how the Holy men nurtured the sacred religion in the past. The blessed land of Makkah and Madinah are many such sites and some of them are marked. Yet there are many places know to only a few which are under threat of to be obscured in near future.
